Nike is going back to the future.

The sneaker maker on Thursday said it has created a limited-edition shoe based on a glowing pair that appeared in the popular 1989 movie "Back to the Future II." The 2011 Nike Mag is designed to be an exact replica of the fictional sneaker, including a glowing Nike name on the strap. But unlike the movie version, these shoes won't lace themselves.

Nike will release 1,500 pairs of the 2011 Nike Mag sneaker for auction on eBay and donate all proceeds to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's disease research. Fox famously played Marty McFly in the "Back to the Future" time-travel trilogy, where he wore the shoes during a visit to the year 2015.

As seen in the June 2011 InStyle, Panasonic’s Lumix FP7 has a function that allows you to retouch your photos right on-screen. Tupac’s only written screenplay will be turned into a film by next year. Pac’s screenplay entitled “Live 2 Tell” was written while he was serving an 11 month jail sentence for weapons charges in the mid 1990′s. The screenplay was being shopped around for a film company to get it for years until NStar Studios picked it up. The two men who are over NStar studios are Preston Holmes and Ivan Juzang. Production of the movie will include Holmes who worked with Tupac’s mom Afeni Shakur on the documentary “Tupac: Resurrection.” Ms. Shakur will executive produce. Also added in the production team is Dwight Williams who produced “Hustle and Flow.” The movie budget is about $11 million.

The synopsis of Live 2 Tell (provided by hiphopnation.net) is about:“A charismatic young man at the dawn of adulthood spirals down the wrong path in life and is brought into the underworld by his once trusted mentor, only to become one of the most powerful and feared kingpins in the city. Eventually his conscience gets the better of him and he is driven to self redemption in life… and love.” I mean that summary alone would make me wanna see it. Sounds like an interesting movie to see. Thug Life!

In the 1920s, Coco Chanel became tired of having to carry her handbags in her arms and decided to design a handbag that freed up her hands. Inspired by the straps found on soldiers’ bags she added thin straps and introduced the resulting design to the market in 1929.^[1]^[2]

After her successful comeback to the fashion industry in 1954, Chanel decided to update her handbag, for the modern women. The resulting design was called 2.55 after the date of creation, February 1955.

The bag has a number of features:

The lining’s burgundy colour represents the colour of the uniforms at the convent where she grew up.
There is a zippered compartment at the inside of the front flap. That is where Chanel is rumoured to have stored her love letters in her original bag.
The backside has a back outside flap for storage of money.
Chanel recognising that the modern women needed to have their hands free while attending social functions designed a double chain shoulder strap, something common in downmarket products, but rare in luxury circles at the time. The chains were attached by leather-threaded chain inserted though eyelets. The caretakers of the convent she grew up at hold the keys at their waist dangling from the same type of chains as the 2.55 shoulder strap chains.^[3]
The bag originally came with a front lock called “the Mademoiselle Lock” (in reference to Coco Chanel never marrying). Since the 1980s, versions can also be supplied with a lock in the shape of a double CC logo. These called “Classic Flaps”.^[3]
The bag has a quilted diamond or herringbone pattern on the exterior. Using a running stitch, this gives the bag shape and volume.^[1] The pattern is believed to have been inspired by several sources: by jockeys’ riding coats, the stained-glass windows of the abbey at Aubazine, as well as by the cushions in Chanel’s Paris apartment.

p.s It takes 6 to 15 people up to 18 hours of work to make one classic Chanel 2.55 bag.

Fashion Rocks MIM is a collaboration between Phoenix Fashion Week and the Musical Instrument Museum. The gathering last Thursday evening included a fashion show, musical performance and shopping area for guests. The soiree is part of "Spring into Style" series of parties to get fashion lovers excited for Phoenix Fashion Week in the fall.

"We wanted to do something different and highlight the stylists, who are the unsung heroes at fashion shows," Hill said. "People don't really know who they are, so we ran with that and incorporated a global fashion and global music spin." Brian Hill founder of PHFW-Azcentral.com

Elements of each designer's home country, including music, colors and motifs, will be incorporated into the show.

Erika, a 22 student at ASU studying communication studies and minoring in Spanish and Founder of -E Fashion Pr.

I began event planning and have been doing pr since my freshmen yr of college and decided to take my freelance pr into a name and people call me "E" so it only seemed fit to call my pr firm E Fashion pr; we research local boutiques and designers and market them in magazines, media and will plan shows for them to display their new season's looks that they have on line or in their store. I believe that AZ has potential for fashion, people just need to be more open to the idea of having fashion shows and events in any part of the Valley, it can be challenging to do that at times, but for those who are a part of the developing fashion community here have the power to influence their friends and family who are a part of the Valley to attend events, buy from these designers and boutiques that we feature in the media. It's ultimately up to the people of AZ to want to be a part of fashion and make it their own. -E Fashion pr is in the process of bringing more fashion events and finding new talented artists to feature in the media.

What's next for E Fashion Pr?

Erika- To put more fashion designers in the spot light, especially if they are just starting up their lines.

Where do see yourself in 5yrs??

Erika- I see myself in the next 5 yrs hopefully in medical school but still supporting fashion events.

How difficult is it to put together a fashion event?

Erika- It is a tedious process to get people involved to get a fashion event going, it took us 2 months to put this one together, I like taking ideas and making them a success, that definitely was the case for our 1st show!

Material Girls: Tell us about your style??

Doreen: My style is pretty much very eclectic. I wear everything from dresses to masculine inspired looks. Dresses are great and I love the feminine feel of them but I love to just mix n match different pieces together to create something new and fresh.

Material Girls: Who is your fashion inspiration??

Doreen: When it comes to fashion inspirations, I don't really have much because I mostly tend to wear what I want and feel and not follow any rules, but I love Miroslavia Duma! I just think she's super cute and everything she wears, I definitely see myself wearing it.

   Material Girls: Favorite places to shop?

Doreen:  My go-to places to shop are vintage shops. I love to go there once in a while to find what I call "TREASURES". Just because most of the items I look for are classics and almost never go out of style.

On March 1, 2010, Just Jane Boutique opened their doors and began offering handbags and fashion accessories to fashion lovers in the Phoenix area. The business continues to grow out of a partnership between Jane McCann and Mayva Kern. McCann, a veteran of the fashion industry for 20 years in London, eventually came to Arizona to raise her kids. Kern, originally from New York, worked as founder and CEO of her own handbag and accessory company. The two met in March 2009, and from there, a company was born.

Q. You've just opened your beautiful new showroom in Cave Creek. Prior to the opening how were you reaching your target market?

A. Through meet-up groups such as Fashion Arizona and our online store. Always carrying merchandise in the back of the car helps, too.

Q. What lines are you featuring right now?
A. At the moment we are carrying the Big Buddha line which has been enormously successful. We're one of their biggest customers and they have recognized us by featuring us in magazines such as Oprah (December 2010) and More Magazine. (Spring, 2010). We also carry Via Nova, Meli Bianco, Imoshion and many more.

Q: Where would you like to see Just Jane Boutique in 5 years? Are you planning to expand your product offering?

A: There are many avenues we can take to improve and grow Just Jane through the Mayva-Jane line. I would like to see our bags sold in boutiques worldwide.

Q: What would you like people to know about your company?

A: It is very important that people know and understand that we only buy and sell top brand names. The quality of our products has been the absolute key to the success of our company.

Just a casual outfit from this past Sunday. For once, I was able to go out with my friends on a Sunday thanks to the 3 day weekend :) I couldn't decide which boots I wanted to wear. I ultimately decided on the lighter boots, since they made me look taller and matched my purse better. Here are the two different looks-

Danielle Arce is an actress, model and host from Arizona. She is currently pursuing her career with TV & Film and hosting, and will be making the "big move" to Los Angeles in August 2011. She is also known for her improv comedy skills - she is very quick-witted with her sense of humor. Not only is she an aspiring actress, model and host, she is also a martial artist!! She currently runs a martial arts school in Phoenix, Arizona, teaching Taekwondo and Cardio Kickboxing. She is a multiple State Champion in Taekwondo, 4th Degree Black Belt and is currently training in Muay Thai. Her first Muay Thai fight will be in May of this year. Wow this girl is inspiring!!
